    Overview

Major League Markets is a fantasy sports platform that operates like a stock market, allowing users (known as ‘Traders’) to place Bets on the future performance of teams, players and sides with real money (which we call buying ‘Shares’).

Each share has a specific payout structure. For example, for a single game share the winning side is awarded £1.00 per share while the losing side gets £0 per share.

After purchasing shares in a team or a side, you may cash out your bet by “selling” your shares before the end of the game back to the market (for either a profit or a loss, as further explained below).

Please note this is not a real money game. There are no actual prizes. All you earn are bragging rights.

    How It Works

You can place a virtual bet by “buying shares” prior to the game or during the game. The markets will open before the games and you will be able to buy shares at the given price which is directly correlated to the win probability of that side and then will be influenced by demand as well.

Once the game starts (and potentially before the game) the secondary market will open allowing users to cash out early or “sell” their shares back to the market.

    Single Game Shares

You will have the option to buy shares of teams for a single game. The opening prices are the projected payout based on the win and draw probabilities of the team. For example, if a team has a 50% chance of winning and 0% chance of drawing they open up at £0.50. Once the game ends, shareholders of the winning shares receive £1 per share. Shareholders of the losing shares receive £0.

    Full Season Shares

You will also be able to buy into full season shares that pay out after your team’s season ends. Each league will have its own specific payout structure. For example, EPL shares will receive £0.1 per point plus an end-of-season bonus based on their final placement in the table. You can find the end-of-season bonus payouts below.

    Share Types

There are primarily two types of shares on Major League Markets: Single Game and Full Season.

    Single Game Shares:

Typically at 9:30 AM, the market will open and users can buy shares. The prices fluctuate according to demand and win probability. Users will be able to sell their shares once the market is completely sold out or the game starts whichever comes first. Once the game ends, shareholders of the winning side will be paid £1 per share, and shareholders of the losing side will receive £0 per share.

    Full Season Shares:

Once the previous season concludes, new shares for the upcoming season will be launched. Major League Markets will set the initial prices and then the prices will fluctuate according to demand. Users will be able to sell the shares once the team they own has sold out or the season starts, whichever happens first. Once the season ends, shareholders will be paid out according to the payout structure of the league. For the Premier League, shareholders will receive £0.10 per point plus an end-of-season bonus depending on where the team finished in the table. Here are the Premier League end-of-season bonuses.
